Intensive Police Operation in Villa María Amid Child Disappearance

This weekend, an important police operation was carried out at a brick factory at the entrance to the Cordoba city of Villa María in the context of the disappearance of Lian Gael Flores Soraide, a 3-year-old boy who went missing last Saturday, February 22, in the town of Ballesteros Sud.

At this brick factory, located on Route 9 after the intersection with Route 2, are the deputy attorney general of Córdoba, Bettina Croppi; the provincial security minister, Juan Pablo Quinteros; and the prosecutors involved in the case, along with members of Protex. More than 30 police vehicles, including federal forces and those from Córdoba, are present at the site despite the recent heavy rains.

Lian's father, Elías Flores, mentioned that the disappearance could be related to a revenge against him. Although the Justice system lacks clear evidence regarding the cause of this possible anger that led to the boy's disappearance, it does not rule out the hypothesis and has focused attention on a brick maker with whom there would have been previous issues. On the other hand, the figure of the healer known as "the grandma" has also emerged in the investigation.

"The grandma," identified as Teodelina Chosco, was seen near Lian's home at the time of his disappearance and subsequently traveled to Villa María to return to Jujuy that same night. In a search of her home, a bag with children's clothing was found, which she claimed to have received as a gift from families in the Bolivian community after working as a healer.

Although "the grandma" has not been arrested, she has been forbidden to leave her house to be available when the Justice requires it, as she is being closely monitored in relation to Lian's disappearance.
